Wedding: Church Hunt (Marikina City)

Mac and I, are trying to strategically chose the location of our church and reception where it will be convenient not just for us as the groom and bride, but also for our relatives and friends who will be part of this big event of our lives.

Since Marikina is our hometown, we have decided to scout for churches nearby.

1. San Isidro Labrador Parish Marikina (Barangay Nangka, Marikina city)
 
   Situated just across the subdivision where my family lives. This is also my parochial church- where i was a member of the SILP Parish Youth Ministry (PYM), oha! trivia

•   What i love:
• Aisle is long enough to walk through (every bride-to-be considers this, right?!)
• Interior- the design is best for a minimalist look. The floor is made out of granite tiles. the door is a big wooden arched door. "maaliwalas", ika nga nila. On the sides are tinted glass graphics of Jesus' journey of the cross.
• Exterior- the church facade is green ( i love it) and there are stone moldings on the walls. the sides of the church are metal gates with dramatic decors.
• Peaceful- although it is just about 30 steps away from the high-way, this church is situated just outside an exclusive subdivision. You won't have to worry that there will be outsiders on you wedding ceremony!
• Parking- spacious parking lot!
• Air-con-non air-con but the place is cool. The side of the church are metal gates where the air passes trough.

2. Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish Marikina (San Roque, Marikina city)

   Located at the heart of Marikina. It is near Marcos highway and also near Katipunan and Cubao.

•   What i love:
• Aisle is long too! No need for a carpet in my opinion since the floor is too artistic to take cover under a carpet!
• Interior- The altar is gold. The ceiling has paintings on it and have a lot of details! The floor is made out of artistic tiles too. cant help but say that this church is mesmerizing and definitely my 1st choice as a bride-to-be.
• Exterior- The church had an old-look to it. The outside walls of the church are stone-colored, like its really raw. there are statues on the top of the roofing at the side and there are also metal gates with artistic details to it.
• Parking- spacious parking lot
• Non- Aircon
• Fees:
• Reservation fee= 1000 php (deducted from the total wedding fee). at least 2 months in advance
• Wedding Fee/nuptial mass with entourage= 7000 php (flowers not included)
• inlclusice of:
• Priest, lector, commentator,seminar fee,tulle. candles and chandeliers,choir (mass only), electricity and marruage certificate registration fee.
• Weding Rites only= 1000 php (if your opts for a simple cermony. This will be held in the chapel located at the side of the church)
• Wedding Mass schedules (Tuesdays - Saturdays): 8am,9:30am, 11 am, 2:30pm, 4 pm
• Wedding Rites schedules: 9am, 10 am, 2 pm, 3pm

3. Saint Paul of the CrossParish Marikina (SSS Village,Marikina City)

This church is under renovation as of this time (March 2018) but since our wedding will be held on 2019, i hope this church will be finished by then. Its looking awesome by this time already, what more if its already finished?

•   What i love:
• Aisle is long enough to walk through
• Interior- is at this time a white canvass, perfect for an all-white wedding!The tinted glass windows are already making a pop-out even the place is undone as of yet. The aisle tiles are also elegant.
• Exterior- although the church is under construction as of now, it is already giving a hint that the facade is going to be a "wow factor".
• Parking- there is a parking beside the school, which is just in front of the church. It is more of a street side parking area at least as of now.
• Schedule; Tuesdays to Saturdays: 9 am, 10:30 am,2pm, 3:30 pm
• Fees:
• Ceremony; 7000 php (red carpet, chandelier,candles and choir)
• Rites with mass only;  2500 php
• Rites only: 1500 php

4. Saint Gabriel Our Lady of Sorrows Parish (Marikina Heights, Marikina City)

This church is located in the pieceful neighborhood of Marikina Heights. Just bedside a newly built commercial building and is also an events venue place, East Narra.

•   What i love:
• Aisle is already carpeted. Its is not that long since the church is just small.
• Interior- "less is more", perfect for an all-white wedding and for a minimalist type of wedding.
• Exterior- It doesn't look like a church in a way as the exterior, all white, round structure of the church is so unique.
• Parking- Parking in in front of the church that can accomodate 10 cars. Parking is also available in the building beside the church, East Narra.
• Schedule; Tuesdays to Saturdays: 9 am, 10:30 am,2pm, 3:30 pm
• Fees:
• Ceremony; 7000 php (red carpet, chandelier,candles and choir)
