Sitio Liw-Liwa, Iba Zambales

I have been to Zambales multiple times already, but just last year, me and my friends discovered our go-to-out of town location, Liw-Liwa San Felipe, Zambales.

We've been in Sitio Liw-Liwa twice already, one was back on September 2017 and then last February 17 2018.
To start, this place is a great spot for surfers, for those who want to learn how to surf and for non-surfers like me who just want to have some chill. This place is just 4-5 hours away from Manila! uhu! let's get this started!

    1.Finding Liwliwa
  • Via Bus: take victory liner bus and get off at Iba, Zambalez. This will only cost about 200 php and 30-50 php for the tricycle going to your resort.
  • Via personal car:
  • NLEX-SCTEX-SUBIC- Toll will be about 400 php+
  • NLEX-San Fernando exit-Dinalupiham Road- Olonggapo-Bugallon road. I prefer this one as it is shorter and will save you 400 php worth of toll fee. 150 php for san Fernando exit. 2018 NLEX Toll fees here
2. Accomodations

Now there are a lot of resorts piling up in the area since the location is already getting famous because of its instagrammable views, magnificent waves (for surfers), crystal sand (literally the sand here is shinning like glitters!) It is not white sand, it is more on a light gray sand and turns dark gray when wet.

*****Home Along the Liwa

I've been here last September 2017 and you guys, this place is AMAZING. The people here are so helpful, hospitable, kind and cool! interacting with them makes me want to buy a kubo and live there forever! Specially ms. Irene, the manager of the place who accommodated us even if we arrived too early for the check-in time. You'll also meet the princess of Liwa - bibe in here (@ka_bibe).

For the food, it is best for you to go to the market upon arriving at San Felipe and buy goods that you can cook on-site. Home Along The Liwa has a kitchen that you can use for free, just give a share for the gas ;). Irene's mom can also cook for you, mind you, her specialty, "Pinaupong Manok" is the best! and just in case you forgot to buy stuff at the market, Irene has a mini store inside the resort- she sells toiletries, snacks, ice, and booze! She even allowed us to use her fridge for our food- now that's an extra!

***Balud sa Liwa
We've been here last February 2018 since Home Along the Liwa was fully booked due to the event in Liw-Liwa at that time.Place is good, kubo style is the same with Home Along The Liwa where the 1st floor is open and there is an attic-style (2nd floor). Although there is somehow a scarcity of water for bathing, not sure but maybe, it was just at that time since Liw-Liwa was literally jam-packed at that time. The hosts are very kind as well :). You can also cook your own food in here, they will lend you their coal/"uling" stove ang their utensils! just please wash them before returning them as usual. They also have a mini store there where you can buy snacks, booze, ice and water (50 php per 1 big blue container).

Now, a lot of resorts are already spurring in Sitio Liwliwa, but these 2 offers so much chill vibes unlike any other "modern" resorts. If you want to feel the "island life" as some may call it, check these two resorts out!

Note: i am not in anyway related to the owner of the resorts. All are based on my personal experience when i visit the place. I will surely continue to go back to Liwa and discover more to update you guys :)
